Trying Bataille Empire, guided by a veteran

Trying Bataille Empire

⚔️ Trying Bataille Empire

Today we had the chance to try out the latest version of the Bataille Empire ruleset, guided by veteran player “Tala”, at Kingdom Wargames in Madrid.

Two rookie players (myself included) were defending Russian territory against a threatening French army.

It was a very enjoyable introduction game, and I finally got to try this Napoleonic battle system I’ve been curious about for quite a while.

We managed to put up a decent defense. Although the French artillery hit us hard and we had to take cover behind the church, their attempt to flank us on the right with light infantry was met by a tough Russian line infantry who stood their ground and drove them back.

We didn’t have the same luck with our cavalry, though. In the clashes we had, our horsemen were pushed back — and if the battle had lasted a bit longer, I’m afraid they wouldn’t have made it.

A fun and exciting intro game. We’re already prepping our own 15mm figures!

Tala brought everything for the game (thanks a lot!): mat, minis, tokens… everything was fantastic :)
